The Decibelles were formed on the 19th April 2018 and are based in Kettering, Northamptonshire and currently have just over 40 members.
Since its formation in 2018, The Decibelles have raised money for charities, performed at local events and competitions and most importantly has offered a great opportunity to create long lasting friendships and to bring people together in times of difficulty all with a mutual love of music.
The Decibelles are a fun, loving and slightly crazy group of ladies from all walks of life, with varying abilities and musical experience but there is a common interest - music. We pride ourselves on not being just an average choir; we strive to be the best we can be and therefore compete on a regular basis at choral festivals and competitions. We are proud and delighted to be able to say that we are multi award-winning ladies choir. We offer a warm, welcoming and supportive atmosphere to all those who join us.
The choir sings songs from many genres including: sacred, musicals, contemporary, both a cappella and accompanied by our pianist Mark Pescott and directed by our MD Joshua Daniel.
The Decibelles are a unique choir, who take great pride in the sound that they create, the reputation that they hold and the group in which they belong.
The Choir aim to support as many local charities as possible.
In 2018 we supported Kettering Mind.
In 2019, Kettering General Hospital's Twinkling Stars appeal was our chosen cause.
For 2022, Cransley Hospice. We have also created a 2023 calendar, where £2 from every sale will go towards Breast Friends Northamptonshire.
We have also taken part in fundraising events. For example, a concert to raise funds for the roof at Rothwell's Holy Trinity Church, and a concert at The Cube in Corby to raise money for war-torn Ukraine.
